Alaska Railroad and Spencer Glacier
We recently had the opportunity to ride the Alaska Railroad to the Spencer Glacier and back. The railroad limited the number of passengers, we all wore masks, and they did extra cleaning, so I felt pretty safe. And who can pass up a train ride?! Not me.

My husband and I took the “Bears, Trains, and Icebergs” day trip. We rode the train from Anchorage down Turnagain Arm to Portage, disembarked for a tour of the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and a quick lunch, and got back on the train to ride to the Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop. From there, a guide took us on a raft to float on the lake to see icebergs and Spencer Glacier, then down part of the Placer River to board the train. We rode back to Anchorage via Whittier. Not only was the scenery gorgeous, but we enjoyed the break from routine. Here are a few photos.

Wherever you are, may you find a fun break when you need one!
