Best Pop Culture of 2012 12/21/2012

Happy Solstice! For the next couple weeks I’m blogging about the best of this year. (Or at least my favorites–I know “best” is pretty subjective.) Feel free to add your own ideas of things you enjoyed this year.

Best Pop Culture of 2012:

There’s so much stuff out there, good and bad! Some of it even had good and bad mixed together. (Dancing with the Stars comes to mind!) 😉 Whether you prefer fun or thoughtful or a mix of both, there were some great moments in pop culture this year:

Favorite TV Show: Downton Abbey–drama, romance and British history, and Maggie Smith is priceless!

Favorite Movie: Brave–funny, with strong female characters

Favorite Song: “We Take Care of Our Own” by Bruce Springsteen–my hero performing one of his best songs ever

Favorite Radio Show: Nights with Alice Cooper–classic rock history, fun stories, and great music

Favorite Tweet: Sherman Alexie (@Sherman_Alexie) When people ask me to “be serious” they really mean “don’t make me uncomfortable.”–as profound as you can get in Twitter

Best books of 2012 will be featured next week!

Okay, what did I leave off the list above, or get wrong? Please leave a comment.
