Alaska Book Week 2024

Alaska Book Week, open book with outline of Alaska on top

Alaska Book Week is a celebration of Alaska books and authors. Sponsored by the Alaska Center for the Book, events are held around the state and virtually during the first week of October. Here are some highlights for this year:

The 2024 Conference for Writers and Illustrators will be held in Anchorage October 4-5. This includes several Alaskan authors, especially those from the Alaska Writers Guild, AKRWA, and SCBWI-AK. See my post about this conference at:

The brilliant and funny author Rich Chiappone will give a reading at The Writer’s Block in Anchorage on Sunday, October 6, 6-8 pm.

Author Tricia Brown will have a conversation with Carol Sturgulewski about her book The Queen of Fairbanks at the Wasilla Public Library on Tuesday, October 8, 6-7 pm.

Poet Erin Coughlin Hollowell will give a virtual reading available on Friday, October 11.
