While Alaskans often talk about the joys of fishing, there’s another outdoor pastime that’s equally rewarding this time of year: berry picking! Just like a secret fishing hole, some people have secret berry picking places. You know you’ve made that person’s favorites list when they share their berry spots with you.
I love to pick berries, and even more to eat and cook berries. Most years, my husband and I pick strawberries and raspberries closer to home, then go out of town to pick blueberries. This year, we have a new baby in the family, so we’re just collecting raspberries from our yard. Here are a few pics.
